WHO WE WORK FORProtection reaches every child.
AVNU focuses on some of the most complex challenges affecting children and families, including children in conflict with the law, children deprived of liberty, street-connected children, child commercial sexual exploitation, unaccompanied and separated children, refugee and returnee children, child-headed households, teenage mothers, and children experiencing abuse, neglect and exploitation.
“Children should not be defined by their circumstances, mistakes or vulnerabilities, but by their potential.”
OUR APPROACHMany voices.
One shared responsibility.
AVNU believes that sustainable child protection cannot be achieved by one organization working alone. We therefore bring together children, families, communities, government, justice actors, academia, civil society, private-sector actors and development partners to develop practical, evidence-informed solutions.
We combine research, education, community action, capacity building, advocacy and strategic partnerships to move issues affecting children from community conversations into institutional and policy action.
